Add Funds:
Use this page to add more money into your account using any of our payment options. You do not always need to use the same type of option to add funds, and when you cash out you can have your money returned by any of our payment processing options. All transactions are safe and secure.
Alerts:
Alerts can be created so that you will recieve an e-mail when a bet matching your interests has been posted. You can define an alert by going to the alert manager from you account page or from the navigation menu's "Alerts Mamager" page.
Allowed Users:
When making a bet you can decide who is allowed to take the bet. If you choose public, then any poserFish.com member with enough money in their account can take the bet. If the maker decides to make the bet private, then only invited members can take the bet.
Allotted Funds:
This is the amount of money that you have currently tied up in active bets.
Arbitration:
When originally making a bet, the maker decides whether or not arbitration will be used in order to come to a decision if the maker and takers can not agree. If arbitration is chosen, and the maker and taker disagree on the outcome, then the poserFish.com community will decide, by vote, who the winner will be. Members go to the Jury section to read the details of the bet, including "I have won when..." and "I have lost when..." descriptor text. They will then make an informed decision. Each member gets only one vote. Once the community has decided, the decision is final. This is an optional way of ending a disputed bet, users can also define the bet as a draw. In the case of a draw, both members receive their allotted funds back into thier accounts.
Available Funds:
This is the amount of money in your account that is available for betting. You can add funds to your account at anytime using our accepted payment methods.
This is the cash value of the bet. Once a winner is decided, the winning amount, less a small poserFish.com commission, will be placed in the winners account.
Bet Closes Date:
No new bet takers will be allowed after this date. When making a bet, be sure to close it before your event date. Bet makers can also manually close a bet to new users at anytime.
Bet Description:
The bet description is a clear and concise explanation of the bet. When making a bet, be sure to write a good description. When taking a bet, be sure you understand the description. If you do not understand it, post a message to the maker.
Bet History:
Your bets and bet history are all carefully tracked by poserFish.com. On the "My Account" page, you can view your full betting history by clicking on the "Bet History" link. This information is not shared with anyone and is kept private and secure.
Bet Maker:
The poserFish.com member who created the bet. You can view their rating information and reviews by clicking on their name. You can also leave them a message on any bet detail page.
Bet Odds:
poserFish.com odds are a simple ratio. Maker's buy in : Taker's buy in. For example, odds of 1:5 means that for every $1 the maker puts in, the taker must put in $5. 5:1 means just the opposite, for every $5 the maker puts in the taker puts in $1. Odds of 1:1 are used for simple $1 for $1 bets.
Bet Taker:
The poserFish.com member who accepts the bet under the maker's terms.
Bets Ending Now:
The left navigation bar provides quick access to bets on the site. "Bets Ending Now" is a list of the five bets with the shortest amount of betting time left.
Browse Bets:
One way of finding bets to take on poserFish.com is to browse the bets. Browing the bets gives a sorted list of bets with forward and back buttons to navigate the list.
"Cashing out" is the process of having funds in your poserFish.com account transferred to your selected payment option. See our list of accepted payment options for a list of financial service providersand cash out options. Emptying your account of funds does not close it. You can come back and add funds at anytime to re-join the fun.
Category:
These main categories are what poserFish.com uses to organize all the bets. Some of the categories have sub-categories. If you have a category suggestion, please send it to categories@poserFish.com.
Change Password:
If you need to change your poserFish.com password, you can do so from the "My Account" page by clicking on the "change password" link. You must know your current password in order to change it.
Current Rate:
poserFish.com takes a small commission from bet winnings. Your current rate is displayed on the "My Account" page.
Current Time:
The current time is displayed in order to assure that you are betting in the right timezone. If you are not, adjust your timezone from the "My Account" page or any of the various change timezone link on betting pages.
This is the title of the bet. It is used for identification of the bets by users. When creating a bet, be sure to use a clear and concise bet title.
Disputed Bet:
When "By Jury" is not chosen during the bet creation process, a bet is concidered disputed if the maker and taker do not agree on the outcome after multiple attempts. The original bet's money is returned to the involved members' accounts. If a member is involved in a disputed bet, this will have a negative effect on their Karma Rating.
Draw/No Decision:
When the bet outcome cannot be determined, it is considered a "Draw/No Decision". If a sporting event was cancelled due to rain, the bet would fall under this category.
You can change your payment options at anytime. It is not necessary for you to cash out to the same account that you bought in with.
Edit Profile:
Details of your account can be changed by editing your profile. That can be done at anytime from the "My Account" page.
Event/Game Date:
The Event/Game Date is the exact date and time of the event that you are betting on. If this is a game, then it is the start time. If it is an open-ended bet, like when the sun will burn out, then simply set this date to the distant future.
Getting started is an informational section of the site. It's purpose is to fully inform new users to the ins and outs of using the poserFish.com network.
Groups:
If there are poserFish.com members that you bet with often, you can simplify your betting process by creating a group. A group can be created from the "group manager" link on the "My Account" page. Once you have created a group, you can then invite the group to a bet instead of needing to invite each member separately.
Throughout the site, certain key terms are underlined and show a question mark cursor to indicate that you can get help on this item by clicking on the term. A great way to understand the ins and outs of poserFish.com is to browse the site and read the help pop-ups.
One of the most unique features of poserFish.com is the "Decision by Jury" method of solving betting disputes. When you first create a bet, you have the option of solving disputes with a jury or simply calling the bet a draw. If you have selected jury, then your bet information will be posted and shared with the members of good standing . They will then be asked to submit a decision as to who has won the bet. If bet fixing is a concern, users can simply choose to have thier disputed bets called a draw, with everyone getting thier money back.
Every member of has a Karma Rating. This rating is calculated using number of bets made, bets ending smoothly, reviews posted and jury decisions participated in.
You must be logged into the site in order to make a bet, change a bet's status, edit your account or do anything otherwise requiring membership.
Loser Clarifacation (I have lost when):
poserFish.com is constantly striving for 100% bet completion. In order to increase the chance of a bet going smoothly, a loser clarifacation explanation is needed. This explanation must describe what outcome results in the losing of the bet. A simple example would be a baseball game. The bet maker should use a simple, clear and concise losing explanation, like, "I have lost when the Yankees lose." Then there is no confusion.
Making a bet is the process of defining the details and activating a new bet. The person who makes the bet is referred to as the "bet maker" or simply "maker".
Maker's Buy In:
The maker's buy-in is the amount of money a maker must put into a bet to cover a lose. You much the value of the bet for each taker. If it is a $10 bet and ten members take the bet, you would need $100 to cover the bet.
Maker's Decision:
A bet needs two decisions for it to be completed. The maker's decision and the taker's decision. The maker's decision can be the same for all takers or different for each taker. The maker can set their decision to "Undecided", "I Won" and "I Have Lost".
Maximum Rating:
When making a bet, the maker can decide to allow only members with a certain karma rating to take the bet. poserFish.com uses betting karma ratings to foster fair play. Only fare, reasonable bettors will have high karma ratings. Restricting a bet to a minimum rating is not required. The maker can also make the bet open to any member.
Monthly Opening Balance:
This is the balance of your account at the beginning of the selected month.

Manage and review all of your bets. You can check here to see when you need to take action on a bet.
My Bets - Bets I Accepted:
The "Bets I Accepted" tab shows a listings of bets where you are the taker.
My Bets - Bets I Created:
The "Bets I Created" tab shows a listings of bets where you are the maker.
My Bets - Private Bets:
The "Private Bets" tab shows a listings of private bets you are involved in.
My Bets - Unfinished Bets:
The "Unfinished Bets" tab shows bets that you were making, but did not activate. This is most commonly due to lack of funds to cover a buy-in.
When making a bet you can define the number of people you would like to offer the bet to. Choose anywhere from 1 to 10. You can close a bet to new takers at anytime before it is full.
Registering as a poserFish.com member is free, easy and secure. You must register as a member before you can make or take any bets.
Reviews:
At the completion of a bet, each particapant can post reviews of the member they bet against. These reviews can then be viewed by members considering wagering with the person in question. Reviewing a member is great way to ensure continued safe and fun betting at poserFish.com.
A slipped bet is one in which the maker's lose condition has been met, yet the bet remains open.
Sub-Category:
Each category is divided into subcategories. Use the subcategory to find the right bet for you. For example, if you would like to bet on a Major Leauge Baseball game, you would look under sports/MLB baseball.
